Partners and stakeholders in the territory

SAM Project, GEF GOLD, artisanal and small-scale miners and MonCertf auditors.

  • In August 2019, members of the ARM team visited Mongolia to provide training sessions on the Fairmined Standard and Assurance System, providing participants with the necessary knowledge and tools to pass them on to other stakeholders to strengthen the Fairmined certification in Mongolia. The initiative aimed to encourage the development of responsible artisanal and small-scale mining in Mongolia. The above partnerships illustrate how working with partners can strengthen the mining sector in other countries through Fairmined.
  • All Fairmined tools were translated into Mongolian.
  • A gap analysis of a mining organization moving towards certification (now certified: DMXX) and visits to the certified Shigir mining organization have been made.
  •

  • The foundations for recognizing the “Mongolian ASM National Federation” as an ARM partner to support the Mongolian ASM sector have been already established to facilitate Fairmined certification. We now have a Handbook of Understanding with this organization.
  • The evaluation and recognition of the local MonCertf audit company have been done to improve the quality of audits and reduce costs for miners.
