International Governance

The international positioning of the CRAFT Code and Fairmined Standard is reflected in the achievements made in supply chains, commercialization, and standards and certifications in tab 4 of this annual report.

In addition to these achievements, the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) has managed to position itself at the international level as an NGO promoting artisanal and small-scale mining that supports better mining practices and compliance with international standards to build the road of responsible and ethical mining. We have achieved this thanks to our work in territories in an attempt to make the sector’s needs visible through our strategic alliances, key influence spaces, public positioning, publications, attendance at international events and influence on national public policies. Our national governance work can be found in the territories tab of this annual report.

Promoting gender equality in ASM

  • An OECD initiative for a better inclusion of gender-related issues in the OECD DDG process, which was signed by a large number of NGO members of the MSG Group during the OECD forum.
  • Public positioning of gender perspective in ASM

Promoting ASM voices

  • Opening the road for a better inclusion of ASM, both at national (Colombia) and international levels, which includes the attendance of miners in the OECD forum and participation in the global dialogue on these issues.

  • Permanent member of standard committees of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
