General objectives

- Managing the participation of public and private entities for the continuity and progress of Somos Tesoro’s initiatives
- Implementing a pilot project in a new municipality based on the four project components plus lessons learned
Sustainable Development Goals we support in the Department of Boyacá:

- A partnership between the Paipa Multiactive Agromining Cooperative (COAGROMIN) and GENSA has been established to implement the "Pilot" component of the Somos Tesoro project.
- Concrete commitments between organizations and miners have been established to meet technical and organizational requirements during the first phase of the Somos Tesoro project.
- 22 public officials were trained in "good practices and learned lessons for mining formalization".
- 30 officials were trained in the prevention of child labor in mining.
- We supported the COAGROMIN improvement plan on organizational and labor issues by following the CRAFT - Fairmined requirements and adapting the understanding of the standards to the activities associated with coal mining.

- 14 gap analyses have been applied to COAGROMIN production units. Based on the analyses, it was possible to identify every weakness/threat that these units have with respect to organizational, occupational health and safety, labor, environmental and commercialization aspects. In addition, improvement plans including CRAFT have been prepared and socialized.
- 68 regional mining units that participated in the first phase are interested in continuing in the second phase of the project, which focuses on strengthening the capacities of men and women miners.
- The territorial CRAFT consultation was conducted in Paipa to identify risks at the territorial level and implement actions related to the improvement plans.
- We supported the COAGROMIN improvement plan on technical and environmental issues by following the CRAFT - Fairmined requirements and adapting the understanding of the standards to the activities associated with coal mining.
- We supported the protection of the Sochagota Lake basin ecosystem by reviewing the responsibilities of the mining cooperative and recommending actions for the protection of the environment.
- We also supported sustainability projects in environmental, organizational and health and safety issues by reaching out to institutions to continue their support.
13 mining units that are part of COAGROMIN are involved in the implementation of a CRAFT pilot program for coal mining: What is CRAFT?
Strengthening the capacities of the entrepreneurial mining women's association (ASOAMME) to achieve gender equity in artisanal and small-scale mining in the region
